I spent a few different nights on the streets of Baltimore with my friend Galen McGrane in 2008. Part of what it means to be Christian is to, as my pastor said on Sunday, recognize the eternal value of another being as a human being. Part of what redemption means is the restoration of our humanity and the recognition and restoration of the humanity in others. I tried to share the stories of those I met on the streets, a little attempt at restoring a piece of their humanity.
